Mouse Brooches
All our mouse brooches are made of gold-tone or silver-tone steel and fasten with a magnet: nothing pierces the fabric, and you can move your mouse around as often as you like. Many wear a patterned dress and some have jointed legs that swing as you move, adding a sweet, cheeky touch to a plain outfit.
Putting on and taking off a magnetic mouse brooch
The system comes in two parts: the mouse sits on the outside of your garment, and a separate round plate attaches to it magnetically from the inside. The fabric is simply held between the two.
- To put it on: smooth out the spot you have chosen, hold the mouse against the outside, then bring the plate up from the inside until you feel the magnet catch.
- To check it: move as you would during the day. If the mouse turns or slips, reposition it: a seam, a fold or several layers of fabric can weaken the hold.
- To remove it: slide the plate off to the side rather than pulling on the head, tail or legs.

Where to wear it so it gets noticed
Among our animal brooches, the mouse is a small design: it shows up best against a plain background, near the face or at chest height. A blazer lapel, a coat collar, the shoulder of a jumper or the flap of a canvas bag all suit it. If your mouse has dangling legs, leave some space beneath it, away from buttons, edges and straps, so the legs hang freely without catching. On a bag, first make sure you can reach the inside to position the plate.
Gold-tone or silver-tone: choose to suit your wardrobe
A simple rule of thumb: match the finish to the metal tones you already wear, whether that's a watch, earrings or buttons. Then look at the colour of the garment that will act as the background.

Caring for your mouse
- Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth, never with household cleaners or abrasives.
- Avoid water, perfume and creams: put your brooch on once you are dressed and have applied your perfume.
- Store it flat, with no weight on any moving parts.
